Prototypes and assets

The Assets & Media tab (PrototypesTab) is where you manage prototypes used in usability test pages.

SourceHow it works
FigmaOAuth connect → select file and frames; screens cached for performance
ProtoPiePaste ProtoPie share URL; interactive player embedded in the test
Adobe XDValidate and fetch screens through prototype API
URLEmbed external hosted prototype or staging site
UploadStatic images or files stored in media storage
  1. In Assets & Media, click Connect Figma.
  2. Complete OAuth in the popup → redirected to /figma-callback.
  3. Browse files and select frames for your study.
  4. Cached screens refresh on a schedule (API cron cleans stale cache daily).

Disconnect Figma from the same panel when needed.

  • Enter your ProtoPie share link
  • The API validates and retrieves screen metadata
  • Participants see the interactive player inside the test runtime
  1. Create prototypes in Assets & Media.
  2. In Build, select a page → assign prototype.
  3. Add interactive tasks on that page (start screen, end screen for goal-based tasks, etc.).
  4. Optional: Compare assets to show different prototypes per randomisation group or condition — including variant task mapping when variant files use different screen names or URLs.

For multi-page tests where several pages share one source prototype, configure compare at section level and map starts per page or ends per task as needed. See the full guide: Compare assets.

Upload images and files in the media library for use in questions and branding.
