Transcription
FromUsers can turn spoken content into text transcripts so you can search, quote, and analyze faster in the Responses tab.
What can be transcribed

Transcription runs when the feature is enabled on your deployment and AI/speech-to-text is configured.
Where to read transcripts
Section titled “Where to read transcripts”- Open Results → Responses
- Expand a participant row
- Open the recording or audio/video answer
- View the transcript alongside playback controls
Question-level timestamps may align transcript text with recording position for usability sessions.
Automatic vs manual
Section titled “Automatic vs manual”- Automatic — queued after upload when study settings and account keys allow
- Retry — use controls in results if a job failed
- Status — check pending vs completed in the UI where shown
- Ask clear audio questions; background noise reduces quality.
- For usability tests, mention in consent that sessions may be recorded and transcribed.
- Use transcripts with AI summaries for faster thematic review.
Privacy
Section titled “Privacy”Transcription sends audio to a speech provider (e.g. AssemblyAI or OpenAI, depending on deployment). Include this in participant-facing privacy text.
