Participant samples
Participant samples are lists of people you reuse when sending study invitations by email. Manage them from the Participants page in the app (/participants), documented here as part of Distribution.

This guide focuses on samples for distribution. Per-study participation views help you track who completed after you invite them.
Create a sample
Section titled “Create a sample”- Open Participants in the left sidebar → Participant Samples tab.
- Click to create a new sample with a name and description.
- Import CSV or add participants manually.
CSV import
Section titled “CSV import”Upload a CSV file; FromUsers maps columns to participant fields (email, name, etc.). Extra columns can feed variables or segmentation in logic.
Use a sample in email distribution
Section titled “Use a sample in email distribution”- Open a study → Distribute → Email tab.
- On the Recipients step, choose your participant sample instead of entering addresses one by one.
- Complete compose and review → send.

Invites and reminders
Section titled “Invites and reminders”From Participants, you can:
- Check eligibility before inviting someone to a study
- Invite a sample (or individuals) to a specific survey or usability test
- Send reminders to people who have not yet completed
Link samples to studies
Section titled “Link samples to studies”Associate samples with studies to track who was invited and who finished — useful alongside Message tracker open/click data.
Privacy
Section titled “Privacy”- Store only data you have lawful basis to process.
- Document retention in your privacy policy.
- Export or delete participant data per your compliance process.
