Synthetic (demo) responses
Synthetic responses are AI-generated fake data that mimics real study structure. Use them for demos — not for research conclusions.
Where to find it
Section titled “Where to find it”- Open a study → Results
- Use the data mode toggle (real vs synthetic), or
- Open the synthetic data dialog from results actions
Generate synthetic data
Section titled “Generate synthetic data”- Choose how many synthetic participants to create (within UI limits)
- Start generation — progress may stream for large studies
- View results in Summary, Overview, and Responses while synthetic mode is on
Synthetic data respects your question types (choice distributions, scales, etc.) at a high level but is not a substitute for real user research.
Clear synthetic data
Section titled “Clear synthetic data”Before going live with real participants, delete synthetic responses so they do not mix with production analysis.
Use clear/delete controls in the synthetic data UI before sharing results externally.
Real vs synthetic toggle
Section titled “Real vs synthetic toggle”| Mode | Use when |
|---|---|
| Real | Analyzing actual participants |
| Synthetic | Walkthroughs, design reviews, sales demos |
Always confirm which mode is active before presenting numbers to stakeholders.
